LET'S TALK ABOUT MOROCCO ...

EDUCATION NEEDS YOUR HELP

Morocco is 1 of the 25 least developed countries in the world in terms of schooling and is now living in a very critical situation regarding their education.

Due to several reasons but mostly because of poverty and the lack of support  from the government, a  third of Morocco’s child population don’t have access to school.

The rate of illiteracy among children has reached 32.2%.

The lack of schools in Morocco in rural areas is presenting a considerable issue for children. They have to walk miles and miles to reach school in difficult and dangerous conditions.

  • 32.2% of children are illiterate in Morocco

  • According to UNICEF, 1.53 million children don’t go to school, and they expect that it will rise to 1.68 in 2030 .

  • 69000 children of whom ages between 7 and 15 years old are working in agriculture and industry sectors, namely in rural areas instead of studying.

  • There is a real lack of entertainment. The Moroccan educational system ignores one of the most important side of childhood : extracurricular activities (reading books, organizing excursions or IQ games) which motivates them and helps them thrive.
